The colorful paintings and whimsical musings of artist Kristy Tracy

In celebration of the first day of Spring, and in anticipation of Easter, I started a new little watercolor. It's full of flowers, blue sky, and the joy of Springtime. I have only just begun to block in color and some of the shadows, but I can already see the personalities of my mama and daughter bear emerging. I'm alternating between this painting and my mosaic this week. In Alaska we have another month before Spring is really here, but we're having warm enough temperatures to start melting the acres of snow on the ground. We call this time of year "Breakup", and to enjoy it one only needs a good pair of knee high rubber boots and a love of puddles.
