Apologies for not blogging lately.
Like so many other Alaskans who tire of long winters and what we call "Breakup" instead of "Spring", I took off to the island of Maui in Hawaii for a much-needed WARM vacation.  The colors, tastes, sights, sounds, and incredibly ambient temperatures were solace to my frosty soul.  I fell in love with the beautiful people there.  I fell in love with the flora, the food, the landscapes, the weather, and especially the new world opened to me via a snorkel, mask and fins.  I left with white skin and a sour attitude, and my yard still had mountainous strongholds of snow.  I returned with an awesome tan and a new outlook on life to green grass, everything budding, swallows nesting, and sunny skies.  Aaaaahhhhhh.  Summer in Alaska.
