The colorful paintings and whimsical musings of artist Kristy Tracy

After I finished up the kuspuks, detailing them with flowers and trim, I lightened up the fireweed and worked in the shadows on the gravel. I brushed layer upon layer of fur on each bear, building up fuzzy, shiny coats on them. Following my client's direction, no bear is looking directly at the viewer. They are lost in the moment, joyful and carefree. I named the finished piece "Exubearance". Dr. Beck wanted a painting in his entryway that welcomed children and made them feel at home. I hope this painting achieves that. If it does, then I have done my job well. I hope it brings joy to all who see it. If you're in the neighborhood, drop by Pediatric Dentistry of Alaska on the Seward-Meridian Highway and take a peek.
Tell the bears I sent you.
