It's such a colorful month, full of change and excitement. October sparks creativity like no other month for me. I love the colors. I love the change of seasons in the air. I love the harvest, the cerulean blue skies, and the coyotes howling at night.  It's magical.

This year our family was so excited about October that we decided to have a pumpkin carving party waaaayyyy too early for Halloween. We feasted on candy corn chex mix, stew baked in a pumpkin, brats on the grill, and pumpkin pie for dessert. After dinner we played Harry Potter soundtracks and carved away our troubles, creating this delightful assemblage of inspired Jack O' Lanterns. Surely the javelina will be visiting my doorstep long before the trick-or-treaters do.
