I've always wanted to paint this picture of my son when he was little. It was the first year we moved to Alaska. We bought our kids little "Snoopy" fishing poles to use at Wolf Lake near our home. We thought it was cute for them to "try" to fish like all the other combat fishermen (and women) in Alaska. The funny thing was, they all caught fish with those little poles! . . . LOTS of fish. We must have worn out 40 Snoopy fishing poles before they were all big enough to use a grown-up rod.
The years have flown by, and now my son has a son of his own. I wonder if, when my grandson is 3 years old, will we be back in the market for Snoopy fishing poles again?
I hope so.
