One of my favorite things to do in Maui is snorkle. Because the water is so warm and salty, it makes it very easy to float. With a pair of fins and a mask and snorkle, one can literally swim for miles with little effort. For Maui snorklers, it's just a matter of time before you cross paths with one of the most gentle and graceful ocean creatures, the sea turtle. They don't seem to mind sharing the crystal waters with swimmers as long as you don't touch them or interfere with their feeding and socializing. And just to keep you honest, the Hawaiian authorities will hit you with a $10,000.00 fine if you do. The preservation of these beautiful creatures is a priority in the Aloha state.
