I've taken a few days off from artwork just to focus on my family. They were severely neglected during my 30-Paintings-in-30-Days challenge, but they never complained that I spent too much time in my studio and not enough time in the kitchen. I'm beginning to think they don't really like my cooking anyway. But I'm really grateful they let me paint every day and I thank them from the bottom of my creative little heart. Except for the dog, who tends to get a little bossy and intrusive with me when I don't pay enough attention to her. It's hard to concentrate on placing just the right amount of color in just the right spot when you have a tennis ball constantly being picked up and dropped at your feet. She's demanding a new Halloween costume this year, and said something about wanting to be the Black Widow because that's the only Avenger that's a girl, but I haven't had time to think that one through yet.

Last night I painted this little redbird, who doesn't look too happy about winter.
