NEEDING COFFEE AT COFFEE POT

SEDONA COFFEE POT
I recently took a workshop with Arizona artist Bill Cramer in Sedona. I'm still kinda new to this plein air thing, but Bill was a great teacher, gamely showing up at sunrise to demonstrate to 11 groggy students just how easy it is to transfer Sedona's massive scenery onto an 8" x 10" piece of board. This is a painting I muddled through at the Coffee Pot formation, a local park where people who let their dogs run loose through groups of plein air painters get mad, cuss you out and flip you off when you point out the "PETS MUST BE LEASHED AT ALL TIMES" sign.
Later on the wind kicked up and blew over several easels.
Plein air . . . the ultimate adventure.
