ANNIE LOU |
After struggling for days - weeks! - with another pet portrait, then scrapping it and struggling for several more weeks on a re-do, I changed dogs in mid-stream to paint Annie Lou. The photo was fuzzy, the lighting sucked, and there were only two views to choose from. But the intrinsic beauty of this noble dog quickly presented itself in her portrait. The process was a joy, and a reminder that original art is just that. ORIGINAL! Even the artist doesn't know how it will turn out.
After getting pummeled by the previous portrait, I desperately needed a win.
Thank you, Annie Lou.
