CHILI PEPPER

CHILI PEPPER
CHILI PEPPER ON SQUIRREL ALERT

If I were to be related to a dog other than my own, it would be this one. This is Chili Pepper Williams, otherwise known as "Chili." She was my niece, in pet language. I dog sat for her when my brother and sister-in-law went out of the country. On my numerous sojourns through the southland visiting family, Chili was always included in that list of visitations. She was a gentle, good-natured dog who lived a long and happy life chasing squirrels and swimming in lakes. She had an unexplainable habit of riding in the car and woofing loudly at every white truck that passed on approach. Only trucks. Only the white ones. Who can comprehend the mind of a dog? It was a great privilege to paint this dog member of my family. Her spirit lives on in the warm, shady places of my heart.
