JASMINE

Beautiful little Jasmine recently passed away. She was much loved and is dearly missed, so much so that her owner's grief prompted her close friend to ask me to paint a remembrance for her. This was an especially meaningful commission for me. I had just said goodbye to my 14 year-old Jack Russell, Mimzy, two months prior to painting Jasmine. I know the heartache of losing an older, beloved pet who has been a part of your family for so many years. I still remind myself to feed or walk the dog, almost daily. Then I remember she is gone, and it hurts all over again. I painted Jasmine with the hope and prayer that her portrait would bring a smile to her owner's face and a leap of joy in her heart every time she sees her faithful little dog gazing up at her from this artwork. Jasmine - and Mimzy - live on in the hearts of the ones who loved them. The fond memories will always be with us.
May we always strive to live lives worthy of the love of a faithful dog.
